The weather was amazing here in New York last weekend and being that there are only a few summer weekends left we decided to head out of the city and head out to Long Island.
We spent both Saturday and Sunday on the beach in Fire Island. The weather was spectacular so we jumped in the car early and made the drive over to my version of paradise close to home. There are a few ways to get to Fire Island depending on where you want to go. I love taking the Ferry but a few years ago we discovered Robert Moses State Park and have not looked back since. It is the only part of the island that is accessible by car and while it can get crowded at times it is no where near as chaotic as it's neighbor Jones Beach.
After we had enough of the beach on Sunday we decided to head out to the North Fork for some wine tasting. First stop was one of my faves, Raphael. We became wine club members of Raphael a couple of years ago and every time we go I feel like I am somewhere in Italy. I absolutely love that place and make it a point to go at least once a month. After we had our fill of wine, cheese and flatbreads we were off to our second spot which was Lieb Cellars. I have only been once before this last visit but this time I fell head over heels. This place is awesome. It is super casual but not crazy like some of the larger wineries on the island. It is just a chill and relaxed place. They are also open until 7pm (even on Sundays) which is a nice way to finish off your weekend with a bottle and the sunset. It was definitely the highlight of the weekend.
Because I was looking for something pretty but casual to wear to our trip to the wineries I decided to give the Kimono trend a try. This kimono is from AmiClubWear and it is meant to be a beach cover up but I put it over a pair of old navy cutoffs and white tank top. It was perfect. This one is sold out but they have a ton of other cute ones so check it out. It is such a fun piece and I can't wait to style it which white jeans once the weather starts to cool down. Hopefully no one notices if I show up to the wineries again in the "same" outfit. How was your weekend? What is your favorite after the beach outfit of choice?
I've linked similar Kimonos from AmiClubWear above but here are some additional options. Shop my look with similar finds below:
