A few months ago we took a drive up to the Hudson Valley for some wine tasting. Outside of the last couple of weeks or insane cold, the weather in NY has been delightful. I'm talking crisp fall sunny weather all day every day. I am enjoying every moment of it.
We started our day at Warwick where we did a tasting. I was pleasantly surprised. Although their wine is a lot sweeter than what I normally like, we actually enjoyed it enough to buy a bottle. This place is awesome because they have a little cafe that serves the best pizza. You can't go wrong with pizza and wine. After eating we stayed for the one man band. It was pretty entertaining.
Our next stop was Applewood winery. I wasn't wildly impressed with their tasting however we bought a bottle of their harvest time which is served warm. It was perfect as the weather started to cool down. They also had a great band and were serving up grilled cheese so you know I was a very happy girl.
So what did I wear for this day trip? Well it was a surprise day trip so I had no idea what to wear but I went for something comfortable but cute. I of course had a pair of heels in my bag just in case. What would you wear for a surprise day trip?
My most recent obsession has been with denim shorts. Now that we are in August and it is super hot on the weekends I like to keep is casual with a pair of denim shorts and a t-shirt. If I am feeling fancy I might add a cool necklace. Because it is the end of the summer now is the time to stock on on these classics. The best thing is you can find ton of options for under $20. Happy shopping.
Why do I look so angry? Because it's hot and I don't like when it is hot. Haha. At least I don't like having to dress up for work when it is 9 million degrees. When it is hot I like to go to the beach or the pool or maybe just curl up in my pjs with the AC on blast. So let's talk about the fact that I am pretty sure I bought this dress almost 15 years ago. I paid about 10 bucks for it and it is still going strong. I LOOOVEE this dress. It is great for a hot summer day, throw on a blazer and you are work ready.

Once upon a time I was a blogger. Then life happened. But now I am back. Let's see for how long. Blogging is an outlet for me. It's fun, not meant to be a job. Sometimes it feels like that when I have the pressure to post consistently because someone out there says I have to. That's not gonna happen. I love sharing my life, my outfits, my experiences, but I love living more so sometimes I will blog and sometimes I won't. I stated posting pics on my Instagram that I hashtag #reallife. I'd like to think of my blog not just as a lifestyle/travel/fashion blog but as my journal.
So a few weekends ago I spent the day in my old neighborhood of the lower east side. I have said this before however things have changed so much and they continue to. We discovered new restaurants, spent some time around the area fka "The South Street Seaport" and just ate and drank to our hearts content. I wore a romper from Necessary Clothing paired with my favorite crocs.
I have recently become obsessed with oxblood shoes and discovered this past weekend that although I have a closet overflowing with shoes and clothes I barely have anything oxblood in the shoe department. That needs to be fixed asap and since I am a bit behind in preparing for the warmer weather that has finally arrived in NYC I have begun my hunt for a pair of oxblood shoes that will be great for spring/summer. The best part is that all of these options are under $100.
To say I am obsessed with rompers, onsies and jumpsuits is an understatement. The minute the weather cooperates it is my item of choice. Just like dresses they are soo easy. You just throw it on with some accessories and keep it moving. I especially love wearing rompers when I go on vacation and am lounging by the pool. What is your favorite go to outfit when the weather starts to warm up.

It is finally starting to feel like spring here in New York City. It has been a long time coming being that it was just snowing. Unfortunately there is still snow in the forecast for this weekend so it seems like spring will be short lived as least for now. In the meantime I am ready to start updating my wardrobe with some floral dresses. Here are some picks under $50.
It's April and there is still snow in the forecast. I am hoping it is all an April Fools joke because to be honest I am tired of the gray days and am needing a little bit of sunshine in my life. I am not one to complain about the cold since I love the winter and even though I am not looking forward to the summer I am looking forward to some sunshine. I also wouldn't mind a beach day that does not involve snow.
So the Pantone color of the year is Marsala aka Oxblood aka Burgundy. This is nothing new however for some reason for the last few weeks I have been obsessed with the color. Although I have a few Marsala pieces I discovered that I am lacking that color in the shoe department. I do have a pair of booties and a pair of old pointy toe pumps from 1995 but I am really on the hunt for something modern that will take me into spring and possibly summer. Here are some picks I came across. Most are under or around $100.
I am getting to a point in my life where most days all I want to do is sit at home and do a whole lot of nothing. I'd like to think that I am getting too old for the partying and hanging out until all hours of the night but then I get a text at 3pm on a Thursday afternoon with an invite to Happy Hour and off I go. Living in New York City means that there is always something going on after work which means that when I get ready in the morning I have to make sure that I am dressing the part. When you work in a rather conservative industry it is a bit hard to try to take an outfit from the boardroom to the bar however my little secret weapon is the black blazer. I am have discovered that a black blazer will instantly turn an otherwise "fun" outfit to a work appropriate look. How do you make your "fun" outfits work appropriate.
