We are midway through the Summer and what better way to spend it than sipping rosé on a rooftop. I have been obsessed with dry rosé for a while now and am always disappointed when I go out and all I can get is a White Zinfandel (I'm not knocking it. I just don't like sweet wines). Thankfully due to its increased popularity there are so many more dry options available out there. My personal favorite is Whispering Angel (They are not paying me.. I just really like it). Also did you know there is a vineyard in Long Island, NY that just does rosé wine. It may be my second favorite place in the universe. I will have to do a blog post on that place sometime soon. What are your favorite places to visit in the summer?

It is time for another rant. Have I ever told you how much I HATE the summer. I think we talked about this last week. :) I mean seriously. This whole 90 degree thing is not working out for me. I hate feeling hot. And as much as I love the beach and pool when I have to wake up and commute to work everyday when it is 98 degrees outside I am not a happy camper. I will complain all summer if you let me which makes me the only person that is secretly counting down the days to fall and winter. Yeah I know snow and cold and all that drama sucks. But I LOOOOOOVEE the cold. My favorite season is the fall or course but winter has its own charm. So in the meantime while I secretly count down the days until cooler temperatures arise I am going to try to keep it cool in florals and lose fitting dresses. What is your go to summer style? What is your favorite season?

I LOVE ROMPERS. When I am not in the office I spend half my summer in a romper and since we are only a few weeks from my favorite season ever I am starting to do some shopping for my next obsessions: THE JUMPSUIT. My DH calls them onesies. I call them brilliant. Here are some I found on sale that I have my eye on (and may have bought while putting together this post).
I am a cheap date. A few nights ago we went out for dinner, wine and a movie all for under $10. You’re probably wondering how I pulled that off. Well pay attention people because we only have a month of summer left so you need to jump on this opportunity while you can.
What we did?
We went to see the Big Short in Hudson River Park. If you live in or near New York City check this out because there are tons of free movies all summer long. All you need is a blanket, some food and drink and you’re good to go.

What we ate?
The night before the move I made taco pasta salad. The recipe is available here and it was recommended by a friend. Since I made it the night before I left out the avocado and cheese. It was perfect for a movie in the park. The pasta salad cost me about 5 bucks to make in total. I halved the recipe which gave me enough leftovers for a few lunches throughout the week so if you are only counting what we actually ate it would be about $2.50 however I still paid $5.00 for all the ingredients.

What we drank?
Wine of course. I stopped at Trader Joe’s over the weekend and found a $5.00 bottle of Contadino Pinot Grigio that hit the spot.
So let's do some math:
Movie in the Park : Free
Pasta Salad: $5.00
Bottle of Wine: $5.00
Grand Total: $10.00
Do you have any cheap date ideas to share?
A few months ago we took a drive up to the Hudson Valley for some wine tasting. Outside of the last couple of weeks or insane cold, the weather in NY has been delightful. I'm talking crisp fall sunny weather all day every day. I am enjoying every moment of it.
We started our day at Warwick where we did a tasting. I was pleasantly surprised. Although their wine is a lot sweeter than what I normally like, we actually enjoyed it enough to buy a bottle. This place is awesome because they have a little cafe that serves the best pizza. You can't go wrong with pizza and wine. After eating we stayed for the one man band. It was pretty entertaining.
Our next stop was Applewood winery. I wasn't wildly impressed with their tasting however we bought a bottle of their harvest time which is served warm. It was perfect as the weather started to cool down. They also had a great band and were serving up grilled cheese so you know I was a very happy girl.
So what did I wear for this day trip? Well it was a surprise day trip so I had no idea what to wear but I went for something comfortable but cute. I of course had a pair of heels in my bag just in case. What would you wear for a surprise day trip?
My most recent obsession has been with denim shorts. Now that we are in August and it is super hot on the weekends I like to keep is casual with a pair of denim shorts and a t-shirt. If I am feeling fancy I might add a cool necklace. Because it is the end of the summer now is the time to stock on on these classics. The best thing is you can find ton of options for under $20. Happy shopping.
Why do I look so angry? Because it's hot and I don't like when it is hot. Haha. At least I don't like having to dress up for work when it is 9 million degrees. When it is hot I like to go to the beach or the pool or maybe just curl up in my pjs with the AC on blast. So let's talk about the fact that I am pretty sure I bought this dress almost 15 years ago. I paid about 10 bucks for it and it is still going strong. I LOOOVEE this dress. It is great for a hot summer day, throw on a blazer and you are work ready.

Once upon a time I was a blogger. Then life happened. But now I am back. Let's see for how long. Blogging is an outlet for me. It's fun, not meant to be a job. Sometimes it feels like that when I have the pressure to post consistently because someone out there says I have to. That's not gonna happen. I love sharing my life, my outfits, my experiences, but I love living more so sometimes I will blog and sometimes I won't. I stated posting pics on my Instagram that I hashtag #reallife. I'd like to think of my blog not just as a lifestyle/travel/fashion blog but as my journal.
So a few weekends ago I spent the day in my old neighborhood of the lower east side. I have said this before however things have changed so much and they continue to. We discovered new restaurants, spent some time around the area fka "The South Street Seaport" and just ate and drank to our hearts content. I wore a romper from Necessary Clothing paired with my favorite crocs.
I have recently become obsessed with oxblood shoes and discovered this past weekend that although I have a closet overflowing with shoes and clothes I barely have anything oxblood in the shoe department. That needs to be fixed asap and since I am a bit behind in preparing for the warmer weather that has finally arrived in NYC I have begun my hunt for a pair of oxblood shoes that will be great for spring/summer. The best part is that all of these options are under $100.
To say I am obsessed with rompers, onsies and jumpsuits is an understatement. The minute the weather cooperates it is my item of choice. Just like dresses they are soo easy. You just throw it on with some accessories and keep it moving. I especially love wearing rompers when I go on vacation and am lounging by the pool. What is your favorite go to outfit when the weather starts to warm up.
